Linda Burhans / Connecting Caregivers
Meet Linda Burhans, “The Gal Who Cares for Caregivers.”
Linda is one of those resources families are incredibly grateful to discover when caring for a parent, spouse or loved one begins to feel overwhelming.
Her own caregiving journey began when her mother moved to Florida and was later diagnosed with stage-four colon cancer. That experience changed the direction of Linda’s work and inspired her to dedicate herself to helping other caregivers find information, encouragement and support.
What I appreciate about Linda is that she understands caregiving from personal experience. She knows how easy it can be for caregivers to become overwhelmed while focusing so completely on the person they love that they forget to care for themselves.
Linda has now facilitated more than 1,500 support groups, workshops and speaking engagements and shares caregiver resources through her radio show, conferences, educational programs and online content.
Her topics include caregiver burnout, dementia, difficult care decisions, navigating family caregiving, finding resources and learning how to accept help.
Caregivers spend so much of themselves caring for everyone else, and sometimes they simply need someone who understands what that journey feels like. Linda has dedicated her life to making sure caregivers feel supported, informed and reminded that they do not have to figure everything out alone.
If you are looking for caregiver support, caregiver education, support groups, workshops, dementia-caregiver resources, speaking programs or guidance for someone caring for an aging or disabled loved one, I recommend contacting Linda Burhans with Connecting Caregivers.
Her specialty is supporting and empowering family and professional caregivers through practical resources, education, encouragement, speaking programs, support groups and the wisdom that comes from having personally walked the caregiving journey.
